VeriDoc Global (VDG) is a multinational technology platform aiming to provide anti-fraud document verification solutions using blockchain and smart contracts. Smart contracts are just like regular contracts; however, instead of being drafted on paper, these contracts run in the form of protocols on the blockchain. The network seeks to ensure that the user gets a valid and correct document created by the issuer. VeriDoc Global platform has established a process and resolution to verify the authenticity of an original document by aiming to give access to a digital version of the original document in a hundred percent secure and tamper-proof way.
The network aims to solve problems like document fraud such as fake documentation, forged identifications, bogus educational certificates, phony legal documents, counterfeit employment contracts, fake medical and insurance documents, fake licenses, fake land papers, fake bank statements, fake passports, forged mobile and utility bills, etc. The platform seeks to provide a web application and QR code (a two-dimensional barcode known as a quick response code) identification system that performs document integrity verification using certifying algorithms and blockchain technology.
The whitepaper seeks to give document issuers many possible options, including utilizing various public and private blockchain networks. The users can create document records on one blockchain network or multiple chains simultaneously, which will provide versatility to users and future proof of their verification data.
VDG is the native token of VeriDoc Global. The VDG token is an ERC-20 digital cryptographic utility token used to pay for the transaction costs on the blockchain network protecting an original document. The token also aims to make blockchain fee payment easier across multichain protocols.
The network filed the patent (a system and method for document information authenticity verification) with World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in 2017 and has been granted in over 90 countries.
