junca Cash (JCC) is a digital asset that aims to leverage blockchain technology to address the limitations of the existing financial system and make financial transactions more accessible and cost-effective for people in the Philippines and beyond. JCC is part of the junca Network, a suite of products and services under the junca brand. The junca Network includes junca Chain, a layer 2 blockchain that is fully compatible with Ethereum mainnet and aims to enhance speed and cost. The junca Platform, another key component of the junca Network, comprises blockchain protocols and tools designed to support the financial ecosystem of the junca Network and provide instruments for social applications, crowdfunding, and voting directly on junca Chain.
junca Cash operates within the junca Network, a scalable blockchain that uses a Proof-of-Stake Voting (PoSV) consensus mechanism. This mechanism offers key features such as double validation for enhanced security and reduction of blockchain fork risk, and randomization to ensure security and prevent handshake attacks. The junca Network is an EVM-compatible blockchain that allows the deployment of any smart contract written for the Ethereum Network with a quick transaction confirmation time. The junca Network can handle over 2000 transactions per second, increasing network security by utilizing double confirmation and processing and confirming transactions within 2-6 seconds.
junca Cash serves as the currency of the junca Network and plays a key role in the development of the payment system of junca. This includes a branded card for quick transactions from a crypto wallet instead of a bank account, a QR code payment system, merchant terminals, and ATMs, all focused on transactions with junca Cash and based on the junca Chain ecosystem. The junca Platform also provides fintech and crypto services to enable domestic and overseas remittances, exchanges, and payments at ATMs, cards, wallet services, etc., aiming to make the economy and distribution in the Asian region smoother.
The junca project, which includes junca Cash, originated in the Philippines, a country in the Asian region experiencing economic growth and stimulus. The project was designed to address specific challenges in the Philippines, where 44% of the population is under 19 years old and the unemployment rate among young people (15 to 24 years old) is high at 14.4%. The Philippines is also said to be the world's largest exporter of labor, with about 10 million people, or one in ten people, living abroad. The junca project aims to provide better financial opportunities for the young population of the Philippines and make financial transactions easier and at a lower cost for people in the Philippines and abroad.
