The platform's native token, WAN, was introduced during the initial coin offering (ICO) in 2017, with a total of 107,100,000 tokens sold. The maximum supply is 210,000,000 WAN. Wanchain is a fork of Ethereum and uses proof-of-stake (PoS) for network security. The mainnet was launched in 2018, adapting the ERC-20 token to Wanchain’s native chain.
