cVault.finance was launched on the Ethereum mainnet in September 2020 by two pseudonymous developers known as "0xRevert" and "X 3". This marked their first venture into the crypto-related project space. The platform's governance token, CORE, debuted on Uniswap seven days after the platform's launch. The co-founders were motivated to create cVault.finance after observing DeFi yield farming operations that they perceived to be making poor economic decisions, such as minting new tokens as part of the farming process. In October 2020, another pseudonymous individual, "0xdec4f", joined the leadership team as head of operations. The platform's smart contract was audited in October 2020 by The Arcadia Group, a blockchain software development and security consulting company.
