ETH Insights: Decentralizing sequencers fireside chat

Summary
We have Ethereum’s rollup-centric roadmap. From there, we have products like OP Stack and Arbitrum Orbit. We have a separate but budding Celestia ecosystem. What does this all mean? It means that building and deploying rollups is now easier than ever.
However, did you know that most rollups currently use a single/permissioned sequencer? This has its efficiencies, but it also comes with weaker liveness and censorship resistance guarantees, depending on the rollup design.
With that in mind, protocol teams are out there designing shared sequencer/sequencing marketplace protocols to decentralize sequencers for rollups.
Coinbase Protocol Specialist Ben Rodriguez joined executives from Astria (Celestia ecosystem), Espresso, and Radius as they discussed the state of the rollup ecosystem and their approaches to decentralizing sequencers.
