Introducing Webhooks

October 21, 2024

We’re excited to announce that Webhooks are now available on Coinbase Developer Platform (CDP). This means that you can embed realtime notifications for different types of onchain activity (like transactions and transfers) on Base directly into your app with just a few lines of code.

About Webhooks

Webhooks are a notification service - a way for one application to deliver data to another application in real-time when a specific event occurs.

Webhooks can be  used to notify external systems of events as they occur, allowing systems to react immediately. This is particularly useful for integrating different services or automating workflows.  Today, builders use CDP webhooks to create push notifications, price alerts, and monitor token flows from key wallets, among many other things.

Event Types supported in CDP Webhooks

While the scope of what CDP Webhooks can be used for is broad, there are five primary events that you can use to build your notifications.

How to get started

Getting started building CDP Webhooks is easy. Simply:

And now you’re off and running with Webhooks!

CDP Webhooks enable so much that it’s no wonder why they’ve become so popular.  While we’re still early in building CDP Webhooks on Base, we’ll continue to add more features and support in the future.
