Announcing: CDP’s November 2024 Builder Grant recipients

November 27, 2024

Last month, we announced Round 2 of Coinbase Developer Platform (CDP) Builder Grants with $25K in grants available. The response has been phenomenal, with dozens of talented builders innovating onchain.

We’ve tracked our applicant’s progress building with CDP SDK tools like MPC Wallets, reviewed their demos, and met many teams, making it incredibly challenging to select only five grant recipients from so many impressive projects. We’re thrilled to announce the grant recipients and showcase their incredible work!

Congratulations to BrianKnows, Magnet Labs, Questflow, Cat Town, and Basics on being recipients of CDP’s November 2024 Builder Grants!

About BrianKnows

BrianKnows (X) helps unleash the power of onchain intents with AI. They extended CDP’s TypeScript SDK with methods that can accept natural-language intents, and execute the corresponding transactions onchain. The result is an intent-based SDK that provides a seamless interface for blockchain interactions for both developers and users. From the developer's perspective, this abstracts the logic needed to write new actions for each transaction by utilizing invokeContract, significantly speeding up development. It also enables chat-based solutions for users, empowering them to interact with blockchain functionality through natural language.

About Magnet Labs

Magnet Labs (X) built a programmable action agent platform enabling users to create, share, and use action agents. On top of Magnet they developed Ardio, an action agent that enables users to interact with the blockchain through a simple chat interface. Magnet integrated Coinbase’s MPC wallet into their payment system, gaining benefits like gasless transfers of USDC and cbBTC, which improve the user experience and simplify the authorization process between users and Magnet’s action agents.

About Questflow

Questflow Labs (X) is the orchestration layer for the multi-agent economy, enabling builders to build, monetize, and tokenize AI agent swarms. Questflow’s Multi-Agent Orchestration Protocol (MAOP) empowers users to orchestrate AI agent swarms to understand intent, take action, and earn rewards on-chain autonomously. Questflow integrated the CDP SDK to manage wallets and handle token transactions between users and agents, enabling agents to charge users for the services they provide.

About Cat Town

Cat Town (X) is a onchain game which aims to onboard the next billion users by bringing new gamers onchain. It evokes the feel of an onchain "Animal Crossing" with a mix of action roleplaying game style loot. Cat Town is designed to attract existing gamers who enjoy this style of cozy game, along with having all their in-game items onchain. It uses Coinbase Onramp for funding new wallets, Coinbase Smart Wallet as a user wallet, Paymaster for gas sponsorship, and several OnchainKit components including Swap, Account, and Basename lookup.

About Basics

Basics (GitHub), a solo-developer project from Shruti Panjwani (X), is a gamified guide to all things onchain. Users can learn, earn, and surf through possibilities on Base using digital surfboards. The vision of Basics is to make onchain simple and fun by breaking down concepts into simple, interactive activities that earn users reputational rewards. Basics targets web2 users who are curious about crypto but find it overwhelming. Basics uses Coinbase Smart Wallets and Paymaster to help a new user mint a surfboard when they're onboarded into the platform. This creates a magical experience where it’s easy for new users to get started, and users never have to worry about gas fees.

All of the grant submissions we received had talented builders and compelling visions, and we’re excited to see them keep building. We will continue collaborating with all our applicants, and are using their feedback to enhance our products.

Stay tuned for details on our next CDP Builder Grants program, and LFB!
