Announcing: CDP’s first AI Builder Grant recipients

September 30, 2024

About a month ago, we announced Coinbase Developer Platform’s (CDP) $15K AI Builder Grants Program, and we’ve been blown away at all the innovation happening at the intersection of AI and crypto.

We’ve tracked our applicant’s progress building with CDP SDK tools like MPC Wallets, viewed their demos, and had a chance to meet with many teams, which made choosing only five grant recipients among dozens of impressive projects and products extremely difficult. That said, we’re thrilled to announce the grant recipients and showcase their incredible work!

Congratulations to Shinkai, Intentify, AIFI Zone, Community Gaming, and SphereOne on being the first recipients of CDP’s AI Builder Grants!

About Shinkai

Shinkai (X) is a two-click install app that sets up AIs to run locally on your device. The app  can tap into a decentralized network where AI agents can pay for services from other AI agents or APIs using microtransactions. They are using the CDP SDK to power their wallet infrastructure, with agents using Coinbase MPC Wallets to transact onchain.

About Intentify

Intentify (X) is building programmable wallets that give AI agents controllable & efficient access to transfer value onchain. They provide deterministic guardrails controlling how an agent should operate, helping to make agents reliable and secure. Intentify uses the CDP SDK and MPC Wallet APIs to streamline the process of programmatically creating wallets and managing PKs to abstract away complexities and increase security for AI agent builders. By extending the CDP SDK with their tech stack, Intentify enables the creation of programmable policies and wallets for controllable autonomous agents.

About AIFI Zone

AIFI ZONE demonstrated a platform for connecting AI and financial services. By providing the AI with CDP's MPC wallets, AIFI ZONE enables AI to perform onchain tasks based on user preferences.

About Community Gaming

Community Gaming’s (X) platform creates a seamless experience for tournament organizers to host grassroots tournaments, and for gamers to compete and instantly get paid when they win. The platform facilitates automatic payments that are fast, transparent, and require no blockchain knowledge to use.

The Community Gaming AI Tournament Admin is a fully autonomous, AI-driven onchain tournament organizer, designed to independently manage tournaments. Equipped with its own CDP MPC wallet, this advanced software automates the entire tournament process, including creating and organizing tournaments directly onchain, submitting final results, and moderating events. Additionally, it can contribute to prize pools, handle donations, and distribute payments to players, all onchain, ensuring a seamless, transparent, and decentralized tournament experience with minimal need for human intervention.

About SphereOne

SphereOne (X) is an intent layer powered by a library of AI agents that wrap DeFi protocols and blockchain infrastructure, making it easier for users to navigate onchain. It helps developers simplify their apps, and enables end-users to leverage AI agents to perform onchain transactions on their behalf. Each agent on SphereOne’s platform has its own Coinbase MPC wallet to make transactions across multiple chains seamless.

All of the grant submissions we received had talented builders and compelling visions, and we’re excited to see them keep building. We will continue to build with all of our applicants and are incorporating their feedback to help us improve our products.

While this was CDP’s first builder grants program, the energy was so infectious that it certainly won’t be the last. More details to come; stay tuned!
